Being closer to home is already a plus. Moreover, the cost of the trip in this case is much less. And it also matters, don’t you agree? You can go to Europe for 90 days during the summer holidays. This is a chance to have a great time, get acquainted with the culture of the chosen country, see the sights, get unforgettable impressions, make new ones dating and most importantly — all this with full immersion in a German-speaking or English-speaking environment.
Students earn between 1,500 and 2,200 euros per month (net),(depends on working hours), this income is more than enough to recoup the cost of the trip and earn money. The place of work is selected based on your wishes for the type of work, but all vacancies are in the service sector. The participant of the program must be at least 18 years old, proficiency in German or English is in the arsenal, and you also need to be a non–graduate student of the institution. Work experience in the specialty is not required – the choice is yours! You will have a great opportunity to learn the language from the inside, step by step discovering something new in it.
Working conditions in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
You will legally live and work in your chosen country for three months, and at the same time you will earn decent money, fully compensating yourself for all the costs of the trip. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it? The work program in Europe for students takes place during the summer holidays, the duration of the trip is 90 days.
Jobs are offered in the service sector or agriculture — fast food, hotels, cafes, warehouses, harvesting. There are different vacancies: you can work as a fast food cashier, a kitchen assistant, and also clean hotel rooms. The salary is from 12 euros per hour (gross), for a month it turns out from 1,500 to 2,200 euros (net), so it is quite possible not only to pay for the trip, but also to earn! You will have to work from 30 to 45 hours a week (40 on average, overtime is possible). It is worth paying attention to the fact that work is still the main component of the program, so evaluate your capabilities realistically! Working in the kitchen or cleaning can be difficult, both physically and psychologically. You need to be healthy and motivated to work.
Working conditions may vary depending on the employer: you need to carefully study the job description, the location of the company, working and living conditions, and the amount of salary. What kind of job you can expect in Germany, Austria or Switzerland depends on your level of language proficiency. If your German is not too good yet (at A1-A2 level), you will find a place as a cleaner or maid. For vacancies involving contacts with clients, it is necessary to speak German at the B1 level and above.
In most cases, housing is provided by the employer, there is a paid cost of 300-400 euros per month and free of charge.
Some employers offer meals for 250-300 euros per month. When meals are not included in the contract, you need to cook the food yourself. Depending on the requests, students spend from 100 to 200 euros per month on groceries.
One more nuance. The earlier you apply, the better the vacancy you will get and, accordingly, the last ones will get those vacancies that remain.
